Real Madrid vs Arsenal

Ancelotti will most likely start Vazquez on the right back and Garcia on the left back following their struggles to limit Saka and Martinelli in the first match. Garcia, being a natural full back, should do better than the seasoned Alaba, who is plainly still out of shape. However, losing Ferland Mendy is a huge setback for the left back position. So, Asencio will likely continue to partner Rudiger at center back. With Tchouameni back from suspension, the French midfielder should prevent Odegaard, Rice, and Partey from dominating the midfield, as Real was dominated in the first meeting. Also helping with that is the return of Valverde to the middle of the field from right back; this should make Real much more aggressive and allow their talented attackers to get the ball faster. With those four players locked in, Ancelotti will almost certainly start Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Bellingham; the only real question is whether Arda Guler or Brahim Diaz will play out wide with Rodrygo. Rodrygo is a great option to start if Real can get up a couple of goals, but he also makes a great sub to step up the ante in the second half. Everything is predicated on Ancelotti’s attacking start.
